FT Plotting
Today I'm at the parents as my car is in for its MOT test. Hopefully it will pass, or at least not cost too much if it doesn't. At least this year I have some savings towards it, rather the bung it on the credit card approach of last year.
Oh and Lacuna Coil Tomorrow! *SQUEE*
*Edit: The Car has Passed!

Movies, Goals and Sight
Last night I had a very enjoyable evening with friends where we watched Kick-Ass. A fantastic film that even manages to make Nicolas Cage look good (I even think he might actually be a good actor, but just picks the wrong films) and how fantastic is Hit Girl! I can see why the tabloids didn't like it (though amusingly that was more to do with language then with the bloody skewering of several bad guys in the same scene!)
Also in an effort to sort myself out, I've decided to set myself a few goals to improve my sanity, life and things in general.
- Get a new job - I'm reaching the point where I'm fearing for my sanity (and seriously so), not because of the callers (who can't help being stupid) but because of management incompetence and their general attitude towards me. I'm so looking forward to being able to give my notice in.
- Sort the flat out - I really need to de clutter! (Plus need to re-enforce my ratproofing).
- Get a Girlfriend and/or Boifriend - I'd like some company (and a few other things). I also think company would serve to encourage my glamour and motivate me further.
- Improve my confidence - it's grown in leaps and bounds but is still a little lacking.

Very Busy
I’ve had a real busy time of late. I’ve had a photoshoot, and will be posting the pictures when I get them back from the photographer. There has also been quite a bit of socialness within both the local kink and geek scenes. Rocky Rat managed to give me a shock with a rather nasty infected wound on his chest. Think he’d been on the losing end of a disagreement with his brother. After a course of antibiotics he is fine now (plus the boys now have a fantastic penthouse cage). Finally I have a couple of new shinies. A new camera and new boots. More on those soon, but for now I just need to deal with the horrible muggy weather!

Not Dead Yet
Just a mini update – I’ve been neglecting this blog again (I have a tendency to end up doing stuff then forgetting to write about it.) So here is a little glimpse into my life this weekend. There is a lot of geekage, with some glamour :)
Saturday was a rather mixed day with lots of fail tempered with one bit of quite epic win.
The first of the fails was with the PC, it has recently taken to crashing when the system is under load. I suspect it is the power supply as it seemed to improve when I disconnected some of the drives. So a new power supply is on order. However while testing I noticed things were running a little hot. So I looked up on the PissyWerld site, fans were £3.50 so I tried to order for store collection but the site wouldn't let me, giving a cryptic "Max Order 2" message. Those with experience of PissyWerld will know how much fail that place is, so read on for more fail.
So I got in the car and set off for Digby. On the way over I noticed a clanking noise, whenever the road was bumpy then something fell off the car. So I pull over and walk back up the road to retrieve a large chunk of my car’s suspension. So I had to call out the RAC man for a tow to what turned out to be the Isuzu truck workshop on Sowton, luckily they managed to get a new spring and fit it within a couple of hours and it wasn't too expensive overall.
So with newly fixed car I set off once again for Pissy World, and quickly located two 80mm case fans and took them to the till, where they wanted £4.99! I pointed out that they were £3.50 on the website and that I'd tried to order online but the site had errored. The cashier then told me that I wasn't allowed to reserve items if the store was low on stock. WTF! It could have explained that in English rather then "Max Order 2". Still I kicked off until they sold me the fans for £3.50!
So after all that fail I did at least have something to look forward too. Dru and I were hitting Exeter's sole Gay Bar so I got semi dressed up* and spent most of the night dancing to Lady GaGa (for some reason the DJ was playing two or three songs then another GaGa, or that Bad Boys song). I was getting so much attention too, though most of it unwanted (some old guy's chat up line was "I want to be in a relationship with you" - Darling I want someone much more fabulous!), so I slept alone but that wasn't a problem as I was happy enough with the confidence boost the evening had given me. Also one girl I met tried to introduce me to someone without asking my name, so she said I was a stripper called Tallulah! While that might be better then my current job I don't have the figure (or the confidence) for it. Would need some boobs, and prefer Burlesque! And I quite like the name Tallulah…
After all that, naturally I was rather akin to a Zombie on Sunday.
PS: I’ve just had the email to say that the fabulous Novatech have dispatched the new Power Supply!
*as in dressed up, but not overly so. I wore my Brian Molko angel top (evilbay), black skinny jeans (primani) and pixie boots (Priceless) with a short sleeved jacket (Primani).

A catchup
Firstly I've been quite social of late, mostly pub trips with friends including a really nice walk to the Doublelocks.
I'm also now the proud owner of a pair of beautiful dumbo rats called Frankie and Rocky, I'll try and get some pictures and more about then up in the next couple of days.
Together with a couple of friends we have started a Goth fitness group, doing regular runs with the goal of being more more fabulous, so far we are doing about 2 miles at a time but hope to increase that soon.
Am also trying to plan my outfit for Rocky Horror in a couple of weeks time. I have a few ideas, mostly variations on Sexy Goth and will definatly take pictures on the night.

Looking at the New Year
Speaking of the new year, and of resolutions, Next year I hope to achieve.:
- Be a Girl:
I'm not meaning operations (yet), what I am aiming for is full time girl when not at work, doing family stuff or other things where it essential that I am boied. That follows on from last year's effort to be 'more glam more often'. With that being relatively successful, I think it might be worth taking up a gear. - Less Coke:
Cut back on my consumption of a certain brown fizzy drink. - Get a Boi/Girlfriend:
Pretty Obvious Really! - One Photo per day:
I plan to take a photo of something every day, whether it is an outfit, some scenery or just something I found interesting. - Keep this blog alive:
I plan to try and post semi regularly, hopefully a couple of posts each week.
So those are my plans for next year. Wish me luck...
Edit: I've also noticed that I've now passed 100 posts, pity the 100th post wasn't anything more interesting then a "Merry Christmas" but still cause for some celebration...

Recent Socialness
The night was a little marred by some hassle from some neanderthals in the main pub. Asking "Are you a bloke?" is not big or clever... Lucky our taxi arrived at that moment, so we managed to quickly escape.
I'm guessing by the lack of comments at work over that Facebook status (see yesterday's post) that no-one is really surprised. I'm not quite confident enough to wear a skirt to work though ;)
And today boi me has been swimming in the sea at Dawlish (I'm not at the stage of being able of swim girled and probably won't be without drastic things like breast implants or permahair). I've not swum for about 10 years so I was a bit faltery and the water was freezing! Though strangely it was warmer further out. We then walked along the sea wall to Dawlish Warren just in time for the train back home.
I've also ordered myself some rather nice Purple Boots from Next - hopefully they will be here on Tuesday
PS: I've changed the template I use for the site so some things may appear broken - I will eventually go back and debug the older posts...

Overworked
Still I did have a night out last Saturday, we had planned to go to the Alternative 80's night, but the venue had decided to squeeze a party in aswell. So we left for the White Hart in search of space and seating.
I'm currently trying to work out what to wear come the summer - so far most of my girlmode stuff is wintery (warm and snuggly) so I think I'm going to have to find some more summery stuff

Skinny and Pride
Exeter apparently has a Pride now - though it reeks of focus group workshop - Think I've been clobbered to collect Gran from the station so might end up avoiding it, given Exeter's reputation that might be a good thing (cynical - moi!) - more info here

Resumption
I had planned to spend my week off being a glam tart, but with the bathroom to sort I’ve been rather preoccupied. Still I am going to save something from the week, I’ve just had my first shower (been using the parents’ while mine was out of action) and should be having a glam social this evening. More details on that to come…

This Week I have been mostly.
Well they say bad things come in threes and Monday was just one of those days. After a manic (snow issues) day at work I decided to unwind with a bit of geeking. So I take the big HDD out of the pc and put in the old Duron I acquired from the parents with the aim of using it as a Server. Start working out if I can install from a USB stick and find that my Apple Keyboard doesn't work with it. It appears that you have to use an old keyboard to enable USB keyboards. I don't have one of those :( But then I had to abandon the project when I realised Windows Home Server needs a 1GHz chip, my Duron is only 800MHz.
Secondly the paint is coming down in my bathroom. I suspect that the builders did just the bear minimum when it came to decorating because I'd have longer, steamier showers at the parents without problems! So I'll be spending one of my days off next week doing that.
Thirdly the water tank decided to have cock of ball issues in the night and consequentially started to overflow. Thankfully I woke up early for some reason, heard it and so wrestled naked with the cock until it behaved itself. (I've had to do that once before as well so know how to sort it!) I then went back to bed!
Oh and did I mention that it snowed.
Yesterday I decided to go in search of more snow. And drove down the A38 to Haytor. I’d have strayed further from the car had it not picked that moment to start blizzarding!
I then drove down to Widecombe-in-the-Moor – famous for THAT folk song
Finding not much there (it wasn’t fair day) I then headed back home, taking a few more pictures on the way
And today I’ve had a very very busy day at work.
(Also I’m trying to write this is using Windows Live Writer – which allegedly supports LJ!)

Change of Plan
I do despair at the lack of clubbing in this city at times, most of the less mainstream nights end up in bars with no dancefloor. I would like to dance once in a while. The mainstream meatmarkets don't appeal

Quiet yet Glam
I also had a play with the camera setup for the Vlog. I've ordered a proper tripod and will see what results I get with that. My current pocket one is not very good.
Yesterday I had a girly shopping trip with a friend, I didn't buy anything as I'm saving a bit at the moment (or at least trying to) but it was nice to have a social shopping trip, did get a few looks, but my ever increasing confidence means that they don't bother me any more!

A line up

My daytime boot collection, expect to see more of these in the near future.
I've also been having a massive tidy up at home. With my strange work patterns I usually come home and slump on the sofa and housework tends to be low on the priorities, there are reasons for my sudden motivation, but for now I'm keeping stum

As for what the parcels contain. I'll keep you in suspense for another day.

New Year shopping - part 2
In less good news, the purple dress is in no way shape or form a 14, I've burst a seam... Oh well - it was only about £5 and its not worth fighting when it's ebay (who don't do customer service). I think I'll stick to actual shops more, at least I can make an educated guess!
Anyway I have been out en femme today, though walking 3 miles in the new boots was probably not the best idea I've had. I also wore jeans, a cape coat with three quarter sleaves, full leather opera gloves underneath, the now torn purple dress. My make up could have been better but I think the result was quite good!
The light was really starting to fade by that point so I'm afraid that's the only photo. My confidence has certainly grown. Next time it will have to be a full shopping trip - I'd neglected to take money today, though I did have enough to get some tissues in the Co-Op on the Quay - couldn't have queued 6 months ago!
Now I think I'll have a bath to rest my feet - its back to work tomorrow so this will probably be the last glam for a week or so.

New Year and the Associated Resolutions
I saw in the new year with friends at a fairly low key party which involved drunken Wii-ing. Who needs the pubs and their price hikes!
I have resolved to be more me and less slack and apathetic. With the aim of being a prettyboi or fab girlyboi much more often! To this end I've been on ebay buying some more general daytime stuff. So far I've got a coat, 3 new pairs of boots (mostly low heeled/flat for daytime lurkings), a rather pretty purple dress top, some shorts to go underneath the dress top (I plan to add black tights and big belts to this combo)
Unfortunately none of the new stuff has arrived yet so I don't have pictures yet. I'm going to work on more daytime looks over the next month or so and see what I come up with.
I've also started as I mean to go on! I'm having a girl day today :)

Confidence and Egoboo (and a pub crawl too)
Last night, I went out on a normal night out en-femme. By normal I mean not Goth or Alternative or even Gay. It was also the first time some of my friends had met Sadie (though they knew about - I just hadn't been very glamourous because of circumstances). Town was very busy as it was late night shopping, this also meant that most of the pubs were busy too. The first pub we tried (The Angel) had an Open Mic and not fancying trying to talk over poetry we then moved on to The Ship. This wasn't too busy, but did contain the Postgraduate Physics dinner. As the physicist in our group didn't want to associate with drunken Russians we moved on again to try the City Gate. This turned out to be full of Carol singers. So finally we ended up at the White Hart where a good time was had. Pictures were taken and might get posted later.
All this meant I clocked up about two miles in heels, some of the terrain was a bit rough going with odd slopes, 'Blunkets' and poorly maintained pavement. To this end I have a nice blister on my toe!
All of my friends said that they'd like Sadie to come out more often. I think girl nights out will happen a lot more frequently from now on.
And as I haven't done a 'Today I am Wearing' for a bit last nights outfit was.
- Black Jeans
- Knee high boots
- Long sleeve top
- Pink and black hooded top
- Pinstripe Coat
- Leather Gloves
- Black Scarf
- Black knit beret style hat
It was rather cold - though at least not cold, wet and windy like tonight!
