Outfit: Pub Bound

Last night I met up with a few friends and went to the White Hart for drinks and a chat about nothing in particular. Just a shame about all the drunk 12 year olds on the Cathedral Green.

DSC00712  DSC00711DSC00716Not the best pictures, wasn’t very photogenic on my camera, though I think my friend has some better pictures on her’s.

Outfit: Scott Pilgrim

Last night I went to see Scott Pilgrim vs The World. The film was awesomely geeky and I must say I was coveting Ramona's style.

Forgive the bushy brows, with all the drama of late they have been neglected. Will get them done when I have some time off from work. Though glamour my be on hold as I've now gone down with the lurgi that has been hurtling around the office for the last few days.

Dress, Jacket, Scarf and Belt: Primani
Leggings: Topshop
Over Knee Boots: Priceless

Work Woe and Nights Out

Am getting very pissed of with the attitude of certain managers at work, it seems that they are now trying to flex their authority (think Cartman in uniform - respec ma authoritoir!) and are threatening a ban on internet and conversation. I think they see themselves as the headmaster of a class of kids. Suspect the Express and Echo will be seeing an increase in sales on Wednesdays (when they run the jobs available page). Certainly I'm redoing my CV.
Am also cursing my lack of money. Long Tall Sally have a gorgeous coat with a stunning pair of boots to match in their window at the moment. Alas I don't have a spare £200 to get them *crys*

I've had a couple of interesting nights out, the Burlesque has moved to a new venue which I can't say I'm very keen on. It's a Working Men’s Club and it still allows members free entry without tickets (while it's ticket only for the Burlesque crowd), certainly there were tensions between the locals and the fabulous burlesque guests and I got some stick for looking like an over pinstriped Boy George (I decided to try ‘Glamorous Boi Mode’ instead of the usual dragdiva) - some of the girls got unwanted attention too. Which is a shame because K&Q put on a great show.

On Friday I had a great night out at the Cavern's Alternative 80s night. Though the fact it was a great night was down to the company rather then the night. The DJ was appalling, I was expecting some obscure stuff, but not as much as was played. I wouldn't have minded if they also played some of the bands listed on the posters/online adverts. Also the DJ would leave the booth to chat at the bar, and not return until the PA went silent (very unprofessional), Still got a couple of dances to some Spanadu Ballet & Smiths and the conversation with good friends more then made up for the poor entertainment on offer.

Inspiration: Some Racier Looks

As I’ve been feeling a lot more confident of late I’m tempted to try a couple of racier looks for a couple of the racier clubs in the area. I’ll expand more on that soon.

I’m not keen on the makeup in this one but the outfit is pretty good.

A similar theme, it wasn’t that long ago that I was too shy to show my legs off like this . Though I don’t think I’ll be quite as draggy as Collogen Girl!

This is something I’m considering for a more dramatic daytime look. Ironically this photo is lifted from a show that tries to discourage such over the top looks. I don’t think I’m meant to be taking inspiration!

Still confidence is good!

Not Dead Yet

Just a mini update – I’ve been neglecting this blog again (I have a tendency to end up doing stuff then forgetting to write about it.) So here is a little glimpse into my life this weekend. There is a lot of geekage, with some glamour :)

Saturday was a rather mixed day with lots of fail tempered with one bit of quite epic win.

The first of the fails was with the PC, it has recently taken to crashing when the system is under load. I suspect it is the power supply as it seemed to improve when I disconnected some of the drives. So a new power supply is on order. However while testing I noticed things were running a little hot. So I looked up on the PissyWerld site, fans were £3.50 so I tried to order for store collection but the site wouldn't let me, giving a cryptic "Max Order 2" message. Those with experience of PissyWerld will know how much fail that place is, so read on for more fail.

So I got in the car and set off for Digby. On the way over I noticed a clanking noise, whenever the road was bumpy then something fell off the car. So I pull over and walk back up the road to retrieve a large chunk of my car’s suspension. So I had to call out the RAC man for a tow to what turned out to be the Isuzu truck workshop on Sowton, luckily they managed to get a new spring and fit it within a couple of hours and it wasn't too expensive overall.

So with newly fixed car I set off once again for Pissy World, and quickly located two 80mm case fans and took them to the till, where they wanted £4.99! I pointed out that they were £3.50 on the website and that I'd tried to order online but the site had errored. The cashier then told me that I wasn't allowed to reserve items if the store was low on stock. WTF! It could have explained that in English rather then "Max Order 2". Still I kicked off until they sold me the fans for £3.50!

So after all that fail I did at least have something to look forward too. Dru and I were hitting Exeter's sole Gay Bar so I got semi dressed up* and spent most of the night dancing to Lady GaGa (for some reason the DJ was playing two or three songs then another GaGa, or that Bad Boys song). I was getting so much attention too, though most of it unwanted (some old guy's chat up line was "I want to be in a relationship with you" - Darling I want someone much more fabulous!), so I slept alone but that wasn't a problem as I was happy enough with the confidence boost the evening had given me. Also one girl I met tried to introduce me to someone without asking my name, so she said I was a stripper called Tallulah! While that might be better then my current job I don't have the figure (or the confidence) for it. Would need some boobs, and prefer Burlesque! And I quite like the name Tallulah…

After all that, naturally I was rather akin to a Zombie on Sunday.

PS: I’ve just had the email to say that the fabulous Novatech have dispatched the new Power Supply!

*as in dressed up, but not overly so. I wore my Brian Molko angel top (evilbay), black skinny jeans (primani) and pixie boots (Priceless) with a short sleeved jacket (Primani).

Post Cosplay

croppedThis probably belongs more on the Geeklog then here but it is glamourous. As you know last night I celebrated the New Year with a group of gaming friends that I have known for years and with everyone dressed as a video game character.  My Costume was Jessie from Pokémon and I think I pulled it off quite well (certainly compared to some of the horrors you see when typing “Bad Cosplay” into Google). Geek Chic FTW (ahem!)

I’ve put a couple more pictures up on my Flickr, if you want to see the full awesomeness that resulted!

Today I am Wearing: NYE

This is an automatic post as I’ll be out partying when it goes live. Yes its lazy but I’d rather be celebrating with my friends then sat at home waiting to press enter. *winks*

So yes, the infamous NYE outfit is…

  • Customised White top with ‘R’ logo
  • Tiny Miniskirt
  • Black Corset
  • PVC Thigh high boots
  • PVC Opera Gloves
  • Red Wig

Yep I’m doing Jessie from Pokémon’s Team Rocket, its a very geeky party with a computer game theme.

Anyway whatever you are doing I hope you have a good evening and roll on 2010!

Impending Doom: The Film Party

vanhelsing Well a while ago I told some of my work colleagues about girl me, and now I’ve been invited to a party. The theme is film and I ummed and ahhed for a bit. It was then suggested to me that I go as Kate Beckensale’s character in the film Van Helsing. The outfit itself is no problem. I have a corset, trousers, boots and now hair. But I have to admit I’m bricking it!

I’m feeling much more confident about my other upcoming attempt at cosplay. For a Video Game themed new year’s party I’m going as Jesse from Pokemon’s Team Rocket. Lets just hope my cosplay is better then some of these.

Today I was Wearing Special: Whitby Gothic Weekend

I spent the Halloween weekend at the Whitby Gothic Weekend. While I didn’t do the main event I had great fun doing the fringe events in the local pubs. Now WGW is rather extravagant so there was a lot of dressing up. So here is a Today I am Wearing special…

Hectic Week

This week has not really been good, this last week at work was the one with only one day off, combine that with it being a public holiday in England (which makes work much busier then usual – we don’t get public holidays off) and I’ve not had much time for glamour, instead I’ve been unwinding with movies and music.

Last night I attended my first fetish munch at the Mill on the Exe. As you may be aware I’ve been looking to expand my kink interest after a break of a couple of years and I figured that it might be a good idea to meet some of the local scene in less charged situation. Hopefully this will mean I’m a bit more confident when I finally get round to attending the Vaults night.

Recent Socialness

Had a good night out at the Transmute EBM night on Friday. Despite the shortness of the night I managed to pack in a lot of dancing (easier said then done when you've not worn 7" platforms out for a while *hehe*).

The night was a little marred by some hassle from some neanderthals in the main pub. Asking "Are you a bloke?" is not big or clever... Lucky our taxi arrived at that moment, so we managed to quickly escape.

I'm guessing by the lack of comments at work over that Facebook status (see yesterday's post) that no-one is really surprised. I'm not quite confident enough to wear a skirt to work though ;)

And today boi me has been swimming in the sea at Dawlish (I'm not at the stage of being able of swim girled and probably won't be without drastic things like breast implants or permahair). I've not swum for about 10 years so I was a bit faltery and the water was freezing! Though strangely it was warmer further out. We then walked along the sea wall to Dawlish Warren just in time for the train back home.

I've also ordered myself some rather nice Purple Boots from Next - hopefully they will be here on Tuesday

PS: I've changed the template I use for the site so some things may appear broken - I will eventually go back and debug the older posts...

Overworked

Sorry for the lack of updates - I've been on a Rota of Doom so have been mostly at work (and with the added stress of having to learn how to use new software.)

Still I did have a night out last Saturday, we had planned to go to the Alternative 80's night, but the venue had decided to squeeze a party in aswell. So we left for the White Hart in search of space and seating.

I'm currently trying to work out what to wear come the summer - so far most of my girlmode stuff is wintery (warm and snuggly) so I think I'm going to have to find some more summery stuff

A Busy Weekend

I've had a fantastic weekend :)

Saturday I had to forgo the Pride workshop (probably a good thing) to pick my Gran up from the station and do family stuff

In the evening I glammed up in a short skirt, flame print pvc corset, new knee high boots* and a skinny top for Black Catz in Plymouth with Miss Dru. The club was very busy and I ended up dancing a lot with very pretty people. So much Egoboo! Finally got home about 5:15 :)

Its interesting to compare Plymouth clubbing with Exeter, In Plymouth the night has lots of publicity, is in a proper (albeit small) club in the city centre and is open up to 6am. The Exeter equivalent is a general metal night, in a Pub function room, a mile from the city centre, with limited promotion and it kicks out at midnight. I know Plymouth is bigger, but Catz is a niche Goth night - the Metal night is in C103 - using all of the huge three room club! I've seen smaller places do similar standards, even Truro (a fifth of the size of Exeter) had a monthly metal night in a proper club (till the venue went tits up)

Talking to a nice Transsexual lady on Saturday also yielding a very amusing piece of information. There is a monthly Tranny Club (not nightclub I hasten to add) at Clyst St George Village Hall. How Random!

On Sunday night I had a night of Wine and Wii. I'm starting to get a liking for Kirby…

*The boots arn't that new, but I've not had a chance to wear them out until now

Child of the 80s

Well I must say that the Alternative 80s night was fabulous. Although I did get some hassle from a weirdo in a wheelchair. Some people seem to want me to justify myself, yes I am technically a guy, no I don’t want a full sex change, yes I am bisexual. Does any of this matter?! Still it was great to catch up with a few people I’d not seen for a while and to hear some good tunes!

Anyway there is going to be a distinct lack of glamour and indeed cleanliness (though I will be flannelling)  as I can’t use the shower for a day or so. I’m going to repaint the ceiling and need to let it dry out lest the paint starts peeling again!

I also need to sort out the PC, its been playing up of late. Two years does seem a long time for Vista to start developing problems. So I guess I’ll be using the Macs and Ubuntu for a bit.

A night with Bill

Last night I spent a fantastic evening with some friends (and their gorgeous rats) watching Bill Bailey's Tinselworm DVD. Quite a bit of material was familiar to us from seeing him at the Eden Project last summer, but there was enough that we hadn't seen as well as a few jokes only Devon locals would really appreciate. In a further confidence boost I went girled, it seems the more I do it the more confidence I get (aswell as improving my makeup).

Outfit (for those that are interested)
  • Black huge necked top (newly bought)
  • Black jeans
  • Huge belt (newly bought)
  • Pixie boots

For outside I added a coat, scarf, hat and gloves

I've been working on a couple of looks over the last day or so with the new stuff from the Primark spluge. Will keep experimenting over the next day or so and will take pictures if I come up with anything good.

Am back to work today so back to boy mode (but with black nails and possibly with eyeliner remains too *wink*)

Confidence and Egoboo (and a pub crawl too)

A letter arrived today confirming that I do indeed have an interview next week. Fingers are very much crossed. I'm not going to say any more in case I jinx it.

Last night, I went out on a normal night out en-femme. By normal I mean not Goth or Alternative or even Gay. It was also the first time some of my friends had met Sadie (though they knew about - I just hadn't been very glamourous because of circumstances). Town was very busy as it was late night shopping, this also meant that most of the pubs were busy too. The first pub we tried (The Angel) had an Open Mic and not fancying trying to talk over poetry we then moved on to The Ship. This wasn't too busy, but did contain the Postgraduate Physics dinner. As the physicist in our group didn't want to associate with drunken Russians we moved on again to try the City Gate. This turned out to be full of Carol singers. So finally we ended up at the White Hart where a good time was had. Pictures were taken and might get posted later.

All this meant I clocked up about two miles in heels, some of the terrain was a bit rough going with odd slopes, 'Blunkets' and poorly maintained pavement. To this end I have a nice blister on my toe!

All of my friends said that they'd like Sadie to come out more often. I think girl nights out will happen a lot more frequently from now on.

And as I haven't done a 'Today I am Wearing' for a bit last nights outfit was.

  • Black Jeans
  • Knee high boots
  • Long sleeve top
  • Pink and black hooded top
  • Pinstripe Coat
  • Leather Gloves
  • Black Scarf
  • Black knit beret style hat

It was rather cold - though at least not cold, wet and windy like tonight!

Socialness

Having been to the last two social things with my friends as a boi mostly as I've not had a chance to tart as I've been going out straight from work (Two Birthday parties - one with Pyrates and rum). So with another night out looming on Thursday - to tart or not to tart is the question.

All this partying has meant the blog has been a bit quiet. Dead may be the new alive but hangovers are worst of all.

I've cancelled the camcorder order, its not going to be in stock until after Shopfest Christmas and so I might as well keep my money and see if the price drops in the sales (unlikely if its out of stock come to think of it)

Party Animal

Sorry for the lack of updates, I've been suffering with the dregs of this lurgy, normal service is slowly resuming :)

In the end the genderswap party didn't happen. With the omnipresent threat of encounting a large group of marine trainees on release from barracks it was abandoned. I did wear girl trousers and stuff, but decided to forgo the heels and corset. In the end we needn't have worried. Exmouth was completely dead and the club had more of a private party feel.

I also had the delights of a house party on Saturday, where I did get some hassle from the host's cousin for being quite feminine, in his words I was likley to be beaten up for it. Apparently he was being nasty to others as well and the host's girlfriend wanted him thrown out. So I think thats one to ignore.

Anyway going back to the glamour - I'm wondering if the short skirt (or shorts) with black tights look would suit me. I think I'll have to take a trip to Primark later in the week and give it a try.

Oh and watch out for a VLOG update in the next day or so... I'll keep experimenting to see if I can get better results with my camera

Preparing for Torture

Today is a day I've not been looking forward to, in just over an hour I've got an appointment with the dentist. What is making me more nervous is that the nice German dentist that I trusted has walked out so I have no idea what is in store for me this afternoon.

My lurgy is starting to dry up, just in time for me to go back to work tomorrow, I am off the weekend though so hopefully will be completely better by then.

I do think work colleagues are going to twig about girl me on Friday night. A group of us are going out, with boys as girls and girls as boys. I'm slightly nervous because it's in Exmouth, which is where Royal Marine recruits go on their weekend releases from the nearby training camp. Hopefully nothing drastic will happen.

Lastly I finally got to see The Incredibles last night, Edna Mode is scarily familiar darlings! Though I'm not as short!
