Outfit: Purple and Black

The temperature has really started to fall in the last couple of days, so I’ve started to wrap up warm. I much prefer winter fashion with gorgeous coats and fabulous boots over summer styles.

Cycle Race!

Yesterday I went to see the Tour of Britain passing through Exwick (this time round it was just skimming the edge of the city), no glamour pictures, still not feeling 100%  although my lurgi seems to be dissipating nicely. Hopefully it should all be gone by the weekend.

Here come the leaders!

The camera decided to freeze here, it didn't unfreeze until they were out of sight!

Here comes the main field

All the Support Cars.

In good news it seems I've won £125 on the Premium Bonds - I might finally get the boots in the window of Long Tall Sally that I've been lusting after for the last month (not helped by the shop being on my walk to and from work/town).

I've also bought tickets to see Lacuna Coil at the Lemon Grove next month. Woo!

Outfit: Lurgied at home.

16 - 16th Jan

Forgive the face cropping – I wasn’t in the mood to show off my sore nose and the less said about the cough the better. Anyway I was wrapped up warm and snug…

Oh and I’m renaming the “Today I am Wearing…” feature to “Outfit” as I don’t always update the blog on the same day (it is rather awkward for evenings out!)

Last Glam before Christmas

I'm spending Christmas with the family so no chance of glamour for a bit, but just before I left for the parents I produced a VLOG and took some pictures.

Glamour Goals Update

Almost six months ago I posted some goals that I was aiming for in a bid to improve my glamour. I thought I would give a little progress report.

Work more on the makeup skills so I don't end up looking overdone

This I’ve been a bit hit and miss on. My makeup skills are indeed improving, but I am still very much a girl of very dark eye makeup. I have however learnt a couple of tricks to make it look more feminine. One very simple technique I’ve learnt is to not fully line the lower lid. Instead stopping slightly short which gives my eyes a more ‘lifted’ appearance. I’ve also slightly changed the shape I make with my shadow, taking inspiration from Grog (singer with Die So Fluid) which has also improved my look somewhat.

I also attempted some very extravagant makeup, think I need a bit more practice and not try and overreach myself either. I was doing well until I thought it would be a good idea to style my brows into the look. “Eek!” is the best way to describe the results.

Get my brows done so they look more feminine, I'm a bit too skittish to do my own!

Following a few lessons from the lovely Kate I am now doing my brows with varying degrees of success, I’m getting there, just need more practice at making them even. Still I will keep practicing.

Work on a daytime look that isn't wrapped up in many coats/hats & scarves.

This is something I’ve made quite good progress on. I’ve bought quite a few girly fit T-shirts which I will wear with a light hooded top or similar as I’m still a bit paranoid about my boi shoulders. Still I am looking forward to wrapping up again in nice snugly coats.

Get rid of my boi hair - now I'm more willing to show more flesh my arms are a little embarrassing

I’m afraid this is still very much ‘To-Do’ – I do run the trimmer over my arms, but I would like something a bit more long term. Unfortunately Laser removing all my boi hair would cost an absolute bomb. Guess I’ll have to get much more intimate with a Mach 3 much more often. The blood will be flowing!

I’ll update the progress and will hopefully add some more goals soon. Now with it being a horrible rainy day I think I’ll have a bath and do my legs…

This Week I have been mostly.

Well they say bad things come in threes and Monday was just one of those days. After a manic (snow issues) day at work I decided to unwind with a bit of geeking. So I take the big HDD out of the pc and put in the old Duron I acquired from the parents with the aim of using it as a Server. Start working out if I can install from a USB stick and find that my Apple Keyboard doesn't work with it. It appears that you have to use an old keyboard to enable USB keyboards. I don't have one of those :( But then I had to abandon the project when I realised Windows Home Server needs a 1GHz chip, my Duron is only 800MHz.

Secondly the paint is coming down in my bathroom. I suspect that the builders did just the bear minimum when it came to decorating because I'd have longer, steamier showers at the parents without problems! So I'll be spending one of my days off next week doing that.

Thirdly the water tank decided to have cock of ball issues in the night and consequentially started to overflow. Thankfully I woke up early for some reason, heard it and so wrestled naked with the cock until it behaved itself. (I've had to do that once before as well so know how to sort it!) I then went back to bed!

Oh and did I mention that it snowed.

Yesterday I decided to go in search of more snow. And drove down the A38 to Haytor. I’d have strayed further from the car had it not picked that moment to start blizzarding!

I then drove down to Widecombe-in-the-Moor – famous for THAT folk song

Finding not much there (it wasn’t fair day) I then headed back home, taking a few more pictures on the way

And today I’ve had a very very busy day at work.

(Also I’m trying to write this is using Windows Live Writer – which allegedly supports LJ!)

A line up

My daytime boot collection, expect to see more of these in the near future.

I've also been having a massive tidy up at home. With my strange work patterns I usually come home and slump on the sofa and housework tends to be low on the priorities, there are reasons for my sudden motivation, but for now I'm keeping stum

New Year shopping - part 2

Another part of my new year shopping came today (I was amazed they were delivering on a sunday)

In less good news, the purple dress is in no way shape or form a 14, I've burst a seam... Oh well - it was only about £5 and its not worth fighting when it's ebay (who don't do customer service). I think I'll stick to actual shops more, at least I can make an educated guess!

Anyway I have been out en femme today, though walking 3 miles in the new boots was probably not the best idea I've had. I also wore jeans, a cape coat with three quarter sleaves, full leather opera gloves underneath, the now torn purple dress. My make up could have been better but I think the result was quite good!

The light was really starting to fade by that point so I'm afraid that's the only photo. My confidence has certainly grown. Next time it will have to be a full shopping trip - I'd neglected to take money today, though I did have enough to get some tissues in the Co-Op on the Quay - couldn't have queued 6 months ago!

Now I think I'll have a bath to rest my feet - its back to work tomorrow so this will probably be the last glam for a week or so.

Cold!

It's absolutly freezing today so all thoughts of glamour have been abandoned in favour of multiple layers for warmth.

I'll be working the next few days, so not much in the way of glamour at the weekend either *sobs*

So in an attempt to inspire me for when things are a bit better, here are a couple of pictures from last week
